Flying to the Fleadh (Slip Jig, comp Patrick Davey, arr. G Hambly)
€ 5.00
This beautiful slip jig is one of the compositions or uilleann piper Patrick Davey from Belfast. It was composed in August 1995 on the occasion of the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel, County Kerry. Patrick decided it was too far to travel from Belfast to Kerry by bus, so he caught an aeroplane instead – hence the title! This is one of the most requested tunes from my first CD Between the Showers, and can also be found in my book Traditional Irish Music Arranged for Harp: Volume 1. Slip jigs are my favourite type of dance tunes and this one is great fun to play!
